究领域为生物无机化学,在细胞通讯与靶向纳米药物设计方面做了开创性的工作。研究课题获得国家863计划、国家自然科学基金项目、国家科技支撑计划及广东省自然科学杰出青年基金等12个项目的资助。申请人于2010年入选教育部"新世纪优秀人才支持计划", 2012年入选“广东省高校“千百十工程”省级培养人才”,2013年入选“国家863青年科学家项目”、“广东省杰出青年项目”及“霍英东青年教师奖”。近五年以第一作者或通讯作者在Adv Funct Mater,ACS Nano及Biomaterials等本领域主流杂志发表论文60篇(他引409次),其中A1论文32篇,h-index 14,申报中国专利9项,美国专利一项。关于纳米硒载药体系的工作获得“第七届国际发明展览会银奖”。
